1. Overview

Vanga (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Vanga mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”).

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Data: When you sign in with Apple or create an account, we receive your identifier and, optionally, your email address.
  • Birth Data: Date, time, and place of birth that you provide for natal chart computation.
  • Conversation Data: Messages you send to and receive from the Vanga astrologer.
  • Connection Data: Birth data of other people you add for compatibility readings.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Analytics: Session frequency, feature usage, and engagement patterns. You can opt out in Settings.
  • Device Information: Device type, OS version, and app version for debugging and compatibility.
  • Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications, we store your device token to deliver transit alerts.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Compute your natal chart and planetary transits using astronomical ephemeris data.
  • Provide personalized astrological guidance through the conversational interface.
  • Remember your history and preferences to improve readings over time (the “Memory” feature).
  • Deliver transit notifications you've opted into.
  • Improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on encrypted servers hosted on AWS. Conversation data and birth data are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. We use TLS 1.3 for all data in transit.

5. AI and Language Models

Vanga uses third-party AI language model providers to generate astrological guidance. Your messages are sent to these providers for response generation. We do not share your birth data, name, or account information with AI providers — only the conversational context needed for a response. Conversations are not used to train third-party AI models.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • AI providers (conversation context only, as described above).
  • Infrastructure providers (AWS) for hosting and authentication.
  • Analytics providers for anonymized usage data, if you haven't opted out.
  • Law enforcement if required by law.

7. Your Rights

  • Export your data: Request a full export of your conversation history and memories from Settings.
  • Delete your data: Delete all your data including conversations, memories, and birth data from Settings. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.
  • Opt out of analytics: Disable usage data sharing in Settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Vanga is not intended for users under 12 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 12.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by email.
